i know that knowing someone who is dieing from cancer is hard not only for the person dieing but for her friends and family. She died last weekend.

Very touching. Sorry for the loss. It's short and sweet but there's somesort of "umph" missing to it, imo. Though I'm sure that's not at all what you're looking for.
